pennies
A poem for wishes that won't come true
I was walking in the park and stopped by a marble fountain. Hundreds of pennies covered the bottom. (Did their dreams come true?) On the ground beside me, I noticed a shiny penny. It winked at me. Only one penny for a girl that needed dozens. (I snatched it up like a secret) I wanted money, but that was too shallow. I wanted love, but that was too vague. I wanted joy, but that was worse. (Maybe I don't want anything) After a minute, I laughed, then laughed some more, until my laughter turned to tears. (The perfect wish was also the saddest) The penny flew from my hands joined the rest of its siblings in the pool of disappointment. (If only this did anything) I wish To be seen.

A calming poem. I guess we all just want a life of peace and joy. A home, connection to a community, whether it's family, close friends, experiences. We all wish for something.
Such a beautiful poem . It captures the essence of you wanting to be seen so eloquently! You don’t even own your initial wishes because you feel they’re not worthy enough, not what’s expected etc. If you can’t even own your own mind then , how are you supposed to seen by others, when you don’t see who you are? You are not alone and you’ll find that the membership rate for this club is quite large!
I asked myself what would I wish for RIGHT NOW. I know ,by now ,to trust my first thought because, for whatever reason, it’s the right one for me at this moment. My answer was “ To trust the process and just be today!”Other followers here , what’s yours ?
